Mary, The Heart of the Diaconate

This podcast invites us to see the Blessed Virgin Mary as the heart of the diaconate. At the Annunciation, her simple yet profound “yes” reveals that true diakonia is not about tasks, but about a total gift of self to God. Just as Mary allowed Christ to be formed within her, so the deacon, through ordination, is configured to Christ the Servant, called to let that same life take shape within him. From this interior communion flows authentic ministry, one rooted not in activity alone, but in love, sacrifice, and trust. In this way, Mary becomes both model and guide, teaching us how to listen, to surrender, and to live a faithful “yes” to God each day.
