Shaping Future Generations of Deacons
First Comprehensive Guide to the Diaconate:
Living the Servant Mysteries is the first textbook devoted to the diaconate, offering a pastoral and theologically grounded vision, shaped by the contributions of twelve authors, that moves beyond function to form deacons as living icons of Christ the Servant. It will publish in the Spring of 2026.

AI-Enhanced Diaconal Program Evaluation Tool:
Diaconal Ministries has completed the development of an online AI-enhanced evaluation tool designed to help dioceses evaluate and strengthen diaconal formation and ministry in fidelity to the National Directory.

Our Mission
Diaconal Ministries enriches the deacon’s life and service by deepening formation, offering clarity about his vocation, and fostering genuine fraternity. Rooted in Christ the Servant, it provides the spiritual and pastoral support that strengthens his interior life and equips him to minister with renewed confidence and compassion. We warmly invite you to prayerfully consider entering more deeply into this mission, uniting your heart with deacons across the nation who seek to serve from the heart of Christ.

Stay in Touch

The Deacon Herald is a monthly newsletter of Diaconal Ministries dedicated to nourishing the heart and mind of the permanent deacon. Rooted in the Church’s teaching on Holy Orders and the ministry of charity, it offers reflections, formation resources, and pastoral insights that deepen a deacon’s communion with Christ the Servant, while also keeping subscribers informed of newly released podcast episodes and blog reflections. Through its content, deacons are strengthened in their preaching, enriched in their spiritual life, and equipped to serve more effectively at the altar, in the Word, and in works of charity for the People of God.
